San Antonio, Texas – September 13th, 2025
Trinity (TX) dominated Belhaven Sunday, winning 49-0 at Trinity Stadium in San Antonio, Texas. Attendance was 2,025 spectators.
Game Leaders & Key Stats
Offensively, Trinity piled up 462 total yards, including 214 rushing yards on 39 carries. Belhaven, by contrast, managed only 104 yards in total.
- Quarterback Hondo Franklin was efficient in just the first half. He completed 16 of 21 passes for 155 yards and three touchdowns. Then he was pulled from the game.
- Among rushers for Trinity, Xae Huerta led with 61 yards on seven carries. Johnny Milo added 47 yards and a touchdown. Jack Kayser had 45 yards and the only score of the second half.
- At receiver, Alejandro Tavarez caught 5 passes for 60 yards and a score. Lamont Nickleberry and Tyson Hancock also hauled in TD passes in the shutout.

Defensively, Trinity was suffocating. The Tigers limited Belhaven to almost no ground game, allowing just 21 rushing yards. They forced three turnovers and scored on an interception return. Freshman Kody Brown was especially notable with two interceptions and a return for 53 yards, including a pick-six.

Defining Plays & Turning Points
What broke the game open:
- On the opening drive, Trinity won the toss. They went 75 yards in six plays for a touchdown. This set the tone early.
- A critical interception by Kody Brown happened midway through the first. It was returned into Belhaven territory. This swung momentum heavily to Trinity. Belhaven had just started threatening. From there, the Tigers kept piling on while Belhaven never recovered.

Trinity scored 21 points in each of the first two quarters. They built a 42-0 lead at halftime and never let up.
Implications for Both Teams
For Trinity, this win confirms what their early season form suggested. They are not just scoring. They are capable of dominating on both sides of the ball. They played against Belhaven with strong rushing, sharp passing, and tight defense. This gives them momentum as they march through Division III competition. It also validates the coaching staff’s depth, since they could pull starters in the second half and still maintain control.
For Belhaven, the loss is humbling. The Blazers were overmatched up front in both protection and tackling. They had few positive plays. They also turned the ball over multiple times. It underscores that improvements are needed in offensive consistency, ball security, and finding answers against strong defensive units. But in Division III, sometimes tough losses early can spur growth.

Strong Closing
Trinity’s 49-0 shutout over Belhaven wasn’t just a win. It was a statement. In Division III, dominance is earned by minimizing mistakes. It is about executing cleanly and maintaining pressure from the opening kickoff. Whether you’re a Tigers fan, a Blazers supporter, or just love clean, disciplined football, this was a game that delivered.
