The Texas State Bobcats thrilled their fans in a lively Halloween-themed setting at Bobcat Stadium on Tuesday night. With 16,831 in attendance, the stands were filled with costumes and colorful displays, adding to the electric game atmosphere. Unfortunately for Texas State, the night ended with a narrow loss as they fell to the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns, 23-17.

Texas State quarterback Jordan McCloud threw 12-18 for 88 yards facing a strong Cajun defense during the whole night with no touchdowns or interceptions, before RJ Martinez entered and contributed with 113 yards, one interception, and no touchdowns. The Bobcats ultimately totaled 201 passing yards across both quarterbacks, struggling to find the end zone through the air. However, the ground game was led by Ismail Mahdi, who rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown, supported by a balanced effort from the backfield, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Cajuns, who came away with the win on the road.
In the Department of defense the bobcats tackling leaders were Ryan Nolan and Jordan Polk

Louisiana, led by quarterback Ben Wooldridge, 18/28 for 252 yards kept their momentum going with a solid performance by the Cajuns’ ground game, helping them extend their streak to five consecutive wins, remaining as the only undefeated team in the SBC Conference. The Bobcats, on the other hand, struggled to convert crucial plays late in the game, which ultimately tipped the scales in favor of Louisiana.

This Sun Belt showdown, marked by Halloween spirit and impressive athletic performances, kept fans on edge as the Bobcats aimed to rally in the fourth quarter. Despite the outcome, the Halloween celebration added a special flair to the night, making it a memorable game for fans.
