In a thrilling showdown at the Alamodome, the UTSA Roadrunners took on the Memphis Tigers on November 2, 2024, with both teams putting up impressive performances. The game drew a passionate crowd of 17,198 fans, further strengthening UTSA’s status as one of the toughest teams to beat at home in recent years. UTSA fans were crucial, filling the Alamodome with energy and showing why the Roadrunners have maintained a formidable home record.

Despite early scoring drives by both teams, UTSA ultimately managed to secure a win with a strong defensive showing in the second half. Quarterback Owen McCown played a pivotal role, delivering key passes that helped UTSA keep pace with Memphis. He connected on multiple touchdown passes, to Chris Carpenter, Dan Dishman, including a significant 8-yard throw to Houston Thomas. Kicker Tanner Sandell also contributed with field goals, including one from an impressive 54 yards. However, Memphis kept the pressure on with quarterback Seth Henigan finding receivers for long touchdowns, including a 69-yard pass to Demir Blankumsee, which briefly put Memphis ahead.

As the game progressed, UTSA’s defense stepped up, forcing critical turnovers that stifled Memphis’s attempts to regain control. A late interception by UTSA’s Jaylon Lewis sealed the victory, allowing the Roadrunners to run out the clock and finish strong.
