Alamodome, San Antonio, Texas – October 11th 2025
San Antonio — It was a night to remember at the Alamodome. The UTSA Roadrunners completely dismantled the Rice Owls. The final score was 61-13 in a pivotal American Conference showdown. The stadium erupted with every big play as UTSA flexed dominance on offense, defense, and special teams.
The game also saw a tense moment. Rice’s player #12 shoved a referee during play. This action added extra drama and tension to an already heated contest.

Total Takeover on the Field
UTSA poured on 21 points in Q1. They added 17 in Q2 and 23 in Q3. This basically put the game out of reach before the fourth.
Quarterback Owen McCown delivered a sharp performance: 15-of-21 passing for 236 yards and 3 touchdowns in the first half.
In the run game, Will Henderson III broke loose. He achieved 115 yards on just 5 carries. His runs included two explosive touchdown runs of 43 and 57 yards.

UTSA’s defense and special teams weren’t left out. A pick-six, a fumble return for a touchdown, and even a safety helped pad the margin.
For Rice, Daelen Alexander put up solid numbers. He recorded 129 rushing yards on 12 carries, including that 57-yard burst. However, it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.

Inside the Dome: Energy, Tension, and Command
From kickoff, energy was high. The home crowd was loud, proud, and ready to feed off every play. Big plays sent waves of cheers. The push on the referee increased the tension. It hung thick in the air. Players grouped, officials stepped in, and for a few moments, it felt like more than a game.

But UTSA simply wouldn’t be denied. Every time Rice tried to claw back, the Roadrunners responded — forcing turnovers, stuffing runs, breaking passing plays. The Dome stayed electrified late into the night, fans on their feet, celebrating a dominant evening.
